I know many of you have been waiting for my next great interview (many being the operational term for both of you who read and listen here).

I spent a little time yesterday with Dr. Robert Marzano. (click his name to listen)

Great interview, Greg. I enjoyed hearing Marzano’s thoughts on NCLB.

I was surprised that you left out my favorite question, “Smithfield or Green Valley?”

I have to say I wasn’t really ready for the interview. I couldn’t remember my questions… and I would say the overall interview was less flavorfull than my past ones. I promise to do better next time.

Greg,
The interview was outstanding. I think it was one of your best. I like the way you responded to his reaction to the soccer question. You inferred that he was not a communist. His passion for producing a product that can actually be used is what makes him effective as an educator. Good job!

Good work, yet again. Have to admit that question one is ALWAYS my favorite. Would have liked to have seen his face when he pondered and then said no. (He did at least ponder, right?)

Agree with Jen on the NCLB response. Love that he said it is making us focus on teaching all kids…

Who’s next?

hi Mrs. G! Just wanted to let you know that we’re starting a blog series at ASCD’s blog (www.ascd.org/blog), where a classroom teacher will give her chapter-by-chapter analysis of using Marzano’s Art & Science of Teaching in the classroom. Each post will also feature a reply from Dr. Marzano. Check out the first posts–
